A Smile From Somalia is a long-term, Somali-led initiative founded by Khadija Omar, Miss Cosmo Somalia 2026, in support of Smile Train. It brings together titleholders, creators, businesses, communities and the diaspora around cleft awareness, fundraising and meaningful action.
The idea is simple: use representation to build responsibility. Instead of starting over with every title year, the campaign creates a recognizable platform, network and structure that future Somali titleholders can inherit, strengthen and carry forward.

Smile Train supports a sustainable, locally led approach to cleft care by empowering medical professionals and partners within the communities they serve.
Comprehensive cleft care can extend beyond surgery and may include nutrition support, speech services, dental and orthodontic care, psychosocial support and other necessary treatment.
A Smile From Somalia supports awareness and fundraising through the official Smile Train Canada giving pathway. The campaign does not make unconfirmed claims about where individual donations are allocated.
A platform future titleholders can inherit.
Khadija's 2026 title launches the platform, but the goal is bigger than one person. Future Miss and Mister Cosmo Somalia representatives can step into an existing campaign identity, ambassador network, partner relationships and annual structure rather than beginning from zero.
That continuity turns a pageant initiative into a growing record of Somali leadership, participation and community impact.
