Meet Khadija Omar, the first-ever Miss Cosmo Somalia.

Born in a refugee camp in Kenya and raised in Canada, Khadija’s journey is one of courage, curiosity and refusing to let where she began define where she could go. Today, she represents Somalia on the Miss Cosmo stage, adding a new chapter to a journey that has already taken Somali representation across some of the world’s biggest pageant stages.

Before Miss Cosmo, Khadija represented Somalia at Miss World, where she placed in the Top 12, and later made history as the first woman to represent Somalia at Miss Universe. Across each stage, her purpose has remained bigger than being the first. She has used her platform to challenge expectations, celebrate Somali identity and show young women that there is more than one way to belong, lead and be seen.

Beyond pageantry, Khadija is an entrepreneur and humanitarian. She is the founder of House of Hooyo, a luxury fashion house rooted in Somali heritage and African craftsmanship, and the founder of A Smile From Somalia, a campaign supporting Smile Train’s work for children born with cleft conditions. Her leadership, entrepreneurship and community impact have also been recognized through York University’s notable alumni recognition.

At the heart of Khadija’s story is freedom of choice: the freedom for every woman to become who she chooses to be, to dream without limits and to define her own path with confidence.

Now, as Miss Cosmo Somalia 2026, Khadija carries more than a title. She carries the opportunity to introduce Somalia to Miss Cosmo for the first time while building something that will continue long after her reign — a platform rooted in representation, purpose, cultural pride and Impactful Beauty.
